Vestalife, the highly-regarded manufacturer of iPod speakers, announced the first of its iPad-compatible speakers.

The Mantis speaker system has been updated from the previous versions for the iPod Touch and made 25% larger to accommodate the lmuch bigger iPad.  It also boasts more power, and we understand has far better acoustics.

Vestalife is best known for their wing style speakers such as the Ladybug, Ladybug II, and the Firefly.   However the Mantis speakers are their top of the line, deluxe offering.

Incorporating a digital amplifier, and a great subwoofer that is downward-firing, the Mantis system’s sound quality are said to compare with speakers twice their price.

No pricing information is available yet. but expect to pay around $200 for the Mantis.
